New Photo Group, New Assignments

Okay, so I know I'm getting these in kind of late, but I thought I should post them anyway. Also, I'm sad to say that I don't think I did the assignments quite right, but hey, I tried. So here is my work. Let me know what you think.

I took a little field trip with my family to Pike's Place Market. That's where the pictures for Assignment #1 were taken.

Assignment #2: This is the assignment I didn't do correctly. Sorry. I simply took the same picture over and over using a different JPEG size, but I forgot to change the quality. Oops or in the words of my 1 1/2 year old, "uh oh". Oh well. That is probably why I didn't really see a difference in the pictures I took. Next time I should re-read my instructions more closely.

I took these at a park in Pioneer Square. The pictures were taken in order where the first is the biggest JPEG size and then it descends to the smallest size.

Assignment #3: JPEG Deterioration

Honestly, after completing this assignment, I zoomed into both photos and I couldn't see a difference in the quality. So then I tried to deteriorate the quality even further by doing it for an additional 10 saves. Still, I couldn't see a difference. However, I probably just did the assignment wrong and that is why I couldn't tell the difference. I wouldn't put it past me.

The Sun

We just got back from a fun trip to San Diego, so of course most of my pictures are going to be from the trip. Since it was so sunny, I thought they would work for this week's assignment.

For some reason I love taking pictures of the sun shining through tree branches. So here are some older ones that show this.

A pair of butterflies.

Pairs of circles taken at the water exhibit at the Science Center.

And some pairs of feet. Can you guess which are mine?

Trip to the Zoo

Here are some fun pictures I took at the zoo when I went with my family this past week. We all had so much fun. Enjoy!

I didn't get as many good pictures of the animals as I would have liked, but here are a few that turned out all right.

Here are some of the pretty flowers that I found as well.

Here are some of the butterflies we saw.

Finally here are some pictures of Kallen and my niece Sharlie. Kallen's favorite part of the zoo was playing in the dirt while Mom took pictures of the butterflies. I also had to include this last picture of Sharlie because I thought her expresion was great. I had just caught her sneaking some fish crackers from the stroller...she is so sly.

Weight

The first thing I thought of when I knew our assignment was "weight" was baby Kallen. I thought, "he is humongous and weighs a lot...I should use him". But then I couldn't think of any really good shot to do. I really wanted to take a picture of him sitting in one of the fruit/vegetable scales in the produce department, but then I thought I might get into trouble because people would think he was unsanitary...and they would probably be right. So I refrained from doing so. :)

This morning, my family and I went to Snoqualmie Falls and I thought, "it's a stretch, but a whole bunch of water like the falls weighs a lot". So here are a few pictures that I took.

Favorites

I thought I would include some new and old pictures for this one. The new ones will obviously be of Kallen, and the other ones are some of my old favorites. I hope you enjoy.

The Kallen Baby!

Now some other favorites from the past

Negative Space

Again, here are some older pictures that I thought might work for Negative space. Sorry...one of these days there will be some new ones. :)
